About the Role
Gardeners are responsible for assisting Crew Leads to perform maintenance duties and
execute designs for containers and / or gardens to create beautiful results that WOW
clients.
Responsibilities
Hard-core, fast-paced gardening!
Install and maintain seasonal planters and gardens in the northwest metro area and
maintain landscapes April – November.
Take direction from the Crew Lead and perform duties in a timely, efficient manner:
installing planters and gardens according to design, spring and fall clean up,
performing maintenance duties (i.e. weeding, watering, deadheading, fertilizing,
pruning shrubs, applying herbicides, insecticides, critter repellents, etc)
Mulching (hardwood) and amending soil
Dividing perennials
Installing perennials and small shrubs
Properly care for annuals, perennials and shrubs with the ability to identify and treat
problems
Daily completion of paperwork using digital tools: timecard, scheduling software and
electronic worksheets.
Loading and unloading trucks each day
Location & Commitments
Location: Each workday will begin at the greenhouse / operations base in Corcoran:
21525 County Road 30, Corcoran, MN 55430
Daily hours: 7:30am SHARP! to 3:30pm, 5 days a week
Seasonal: Average timing is mid-March through end of November (with a vacation
freeze in May/early June & November) December – early March is off
Qualifications | Skills We’re Seeking in Candidate
Must be punctual! Arrive on time or early everyday!
1-2 years gardening experience
Must have a passion for flowers and nature
Positive attitude required
Willing to get very dirty and work outside in variable weather conditions (heat,
humidity, rain, snow, bugs)
Desire to obtain pesticide applicator license
Must be able to take direction and work well with others
Ability to collaborate with the team on a solution-oriented approach
Must have the ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of
arms, legs and moving your whole body, which include lifting, bending, digging,
reaching, walking, pushing / pulling carts and handling plants / materials.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., occasionally more with assistance and the ability to lift
10-20 lbs. repetitively
